    Jekyll & Hide

    EXTERIOR

    FULL GRAIN LEATHER

Full-grain leather is the gold standard, because it remains untouched by sanding, shaving, or splitting, it retains the hide’s original strength and character.

At Jekyll & Hide, we favour this uncompromising material because it doesn’t just last; it matures. Every mark and natural variation tells a story, developing a rich patina that makes every piece uniquely yours.

    INTERIOR

    100% RECYCLED LININGS

We are replacing 95% of our fabrics with 100% recycled PET from discarded bottles. Our innovative process transforms plastic waste into a high-performance, water-resistant polyester that prevents landfill buildup for over 1,000 years. By choosing our infinitely recyclable linings, you are supporting a circular system that aligns modern production with nature’s ecosystem.

    Frequently Asked Questions

What is this chain purse made from, and how does the leather age?

This chain purse is crafted from full-grain, naturally tanned cowhide leather -- a premium material selected for its durability and rich character. Unlike synthetically treated leathers, the natural vegetable-tanning process means the hide develops a unique patina over time, deepening in tone and character with every use. The result is a chain purse that looks better the longer you use it, with a finish that becomes distinctly yours.

How do I adjust the strap, and what fits inside this chain purse?

The chain strap is fully adjustable -- simply slide the fastening to your preferred length for crossbody or wrist carry. Inside, this chain purse is exceptionally well-organised: 20 dedicated card slots keep all your essential and loyalty cards to hand, while three compartments accommodate your phone and notes. A zipped central coin pouch provides secure storage for loose change, and a clear ID window gives you easy access to your identification without removing it.

How do I care for the leather on this chain purse?

The natural leather requires only simple care to look its best for years. Wipe the surface with a soft, dry cloth periodically to remove dust, and apply a small amount of quality leather balm or cream every few months to maintain suppleness. Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight or heat sources, which can dry the hide. If the leather gets wet, let it air-dry at room temperature -- the natural oils in the tanning process give it good inherent resistance to light moisture.

Is this chain purse secure for travel and evenings out?

Yes -- the zip-around closure keeps your belongings fully secured, and the RFID-blocking lining inside shields your contactless cards from electronic theft. The detachable chain strap allows you to wear it as a crossbody or clutch, keeping the bag within sight at all times. Its compact size and close-body carry make it a practical choice for busy events, travel, and evenings out where security and style need to work together.
