Every minute, one truckload of plastic ends up in our oceans. Now containing over 5 trillion pieces of plastic litter, by 2050 there may be more plastic in our oceans than fish. Plastic does not biodegrade like natural materials. Instead it breaks down into even smaller pieces that animals then mistake for food. If our sea life is consuming it, then we are too. It's a dire situation, but it’s not too late to turn it around. Whilst recycling is the first step in breaking this cycle, we need to rethink and reinvent to eventually eliminate plastic. It's time to shift our attitudes, our perspectives and our habits. We must find ways to align our human economic system with nature’s ecosystem. And we need to do this collectively. Together. As expressed in our sustainability statement, we have begun the process of replacing all of our fabrics with a 100% recycled material derived from used plastic bottles. Recently introduced, this lining is already found in a few bespoke lines, with more styles to be added throughout 2022.
